| distance to turn accuracy. With my 680, I will be at the intersection, driveway, whatever that I am supposed to execute a turn and it's telling me I still have another 50 ~ 90' to go before making that turn. Obviously, it's pretty intuitive what you're supposed to do when you need to turn on Main St. and you're at the intersection of Main St. but the GPS is telling you there's another 50 ~ 90' to go. But in cases where intersections are very close together and there's no street signs, it could cause a problem. In comparison, the OE nav in my Expedition appears to be much more accurate in that the error is on the order of less than 20'. Is it the end of the world? Absolutely not. If I miss the turn the nav unit will update and correct the directions. Or, and this is a big secret that very few drivers know about, if I miss my turn, I am fully capable of making a u-turn and going back to the intersection I missed. I am constantly dismayed at the majority of drivers who will cut across three lanes of traffic, or outright stop in the traffic lane and wait for traffic to clear so they can get to the turn lane. And then there's this guy...paging Darwin. *shakes head*. The bottom line: You still need to use your brain if you have a nav unit. Dave
